Outlaw Theatre - Stephen Hancocks

Stephen Hancocks Portrait PhotoHaving been a keen actor as a child, and ever since, it is perhaps not surprising that Stephen eventually found his way to drama school, attending Central School of Speech and Drama and gaining an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice on a course encompassing writing, performing, directing producing and designing.

He started and co-owns Outlaw Theatre for which he writes, performs and produces.


WRITING


During and subsequent to drama school, Stephen has written and had the following plays performed:

Stephen has also written for radio programmes such as Week Ending, The News Huddlines, Marks in his Diary and The Jason Explanations , as well as for The Two Ronnies on BBC Tv.

PERFORMING
 
The improvised story telling show FairLy Tales , in which Stephen performs, has enjoyed successful seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2002 and 2004 (4 stars in The Scotsman , show of the day in the Daily Mail ); the Etcetera Theatre, London ( Time Out Critics' Choice); Lyric Hammersmith, Gate, Canal Café Theatre, Warwick Arts Centre and a UK tour. The show is a co-production between Outlaw Theatre and Black Sheep Theatre.
